About this adventure
Dallas Park and Recreation's Outdoor Adventures program takes families on a guided introduction to car camping at Ray Roberts Lake State Park's Johnson Branch Unit. The city provides top-of-the-line gear for up to six people — tents, cots or mats, cooking gear and headlamps — and seasoned staff help families set up camp and build outdoor skills, so all a family has to plan is meals. Bring your own bedding, food, clothes and water bottles. Check-in starts at 3 p.m. Friday and the weekend ends at noon Sunday. One registration covers a family of up to six, which makes it an affordable way to test camping before buying equipment.
